Profile

Michelle joins Meyers Law as an associate attorney where she is concentrating her practice in medical negligence and personal injury litigation. As part of a team of premiere trial attorneys and support staff, she will continue to hone her skills in writing and advocacy, from client communications through every step of the trial process. Prior to joining Meyers Law, Michelle clerked at a complex business litigation firm where she obtained experience and insight in all aspects of the litigation process.

Michelle obtained an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a Specialization in Law and Politics from the University of Windsor, graduating with distinction and earning a LEAD Medallion Scholar award for her excellence in academics and commitment to the community. Post-graduation Michelle ambitiously pursued dual J.D. degrees and graduated Cum Laude earning an American J.D. from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and a Canadian J.D. from University of Windsor Faculty of Law.

During law school, Ms. Gomes was the recipient of multiple academic awards, including three CALI/Book Awards, multiple dean’s list honors, and the Top Oralist Award at the Detroit Mercy Law Junior Moot Court competition. Michelle supplemented her academic studies with enrichment real life experiences, serving as a member of the Moot Court Board of Advocates, a Pupil for the Detroit Mercy Law chapter of the American Inns of Court, and spent two semesters as a student advocate at the Federal Pro Se Clinic.

Michelle further complemented her studies throughout law school, by volunteering and mentoring with the Student Law Society, High School Outreach Program, Peer Mentorship Program, and served as the Chair of the Windsor Law Justice at Work Committee.

Michelle brings a passion to diligently advocate for those that have been injured. She understands the importance of truly listening to the client and counseling them through the litigation process.

In her non-professional time, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends, remaining active through sports, and travelling. Michelle looks forward to utilizing her legal education in her volunteer efforts in her community.
